Voluntary Out Of Home Care (VOOHC)

         for Individuals and Groups

If support is needed to assist with care for children and young people with disability outside the

family home, Westhaven can assist. Voluntary out of home care provides respite for children

and young people who are living with their family members or carers.

Westhaven offers VOOHC away from the home setting.

Services available under this model of service delivery may include:
  • Overnight support
  • Transport eg. collecting the child from school
  • Community activities such as sport
  • After school care/during school holidays
  • Sometimes, these services can be funded through NDIS
Individual or Group Services

Individual or Group Services are a great opportunity for children and young people to have fun
with their peers and spend time away from the home environment.

Westhaven offers the following services:

  • After school
  • Weekend mornings
  • Weekend afternoons
  • Support during school days
  • Sometimes, these services can be funded through NDIS
Under group respite, children and young people also have the opportunity to take part in community
participation activities and programs of their choice.

The benefits of this type of participation are:
  • Children and young people develop relationships with their peers
  • Children and young people become valuable members of the community
