Young People Turning 18

For children and young people with disability who have been in care, life changes drastically when they turn 18.

At Westhaven, we offer leaving care support services to help make the transition into the adult world a little less daunting.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), disability leaving care services will provide supports to assist the participant transition from the responsibility of the Minister for Community Services into supported independent living.

Westhaven works with individual participants to find employment pathways for young people with disability, leaving school and planning for the future.

Westhaven provides assistance in looking at options which consider your disability, housing choices to suit your capabilities and to understand their developmental needs.

If you would like more information, or would like to meet with us to discuss what we offer in relation to children and young people with disability: please contact Westhaven directly to arrange a meeting.
